Atlanta is a cultural and technological hub. While there are many Fortune 500 (and similar caliber) businesses headquartered in the Midtown and Buckhead areas that can afford the local high-cost, high-throughput design firms to tackle their challenges, there are hundreds of local retail business, technology startups, and up-and-coming rappers who are seeking design services at a lower price point. Fantastech Designs was created to serve that substantial market segment. Because of the low-overhead costs, I am able to charge a substantially reduced rate to local entrepreneurs in need of a quality logo, product, or web design while still making a profit.
Self-Promotion and Marketing
April 2018 - Present
The company advertises through four methods:
Cohesive Online Presence: I registered the business after confirming the availability of the correct domain name, and I set up a properly branded website explaining my services and qualifications within a day of registration.
Fliers: For tech startups and incubators in the area, fliers are the easiest and most efficient way to advertise your services. I scattered fliers across the Georgia Tech campus and mailed them out for distribution at several collaborative workplaces.
Business Card Swap: I spend a lot of time visiting small businesses and meeting new contacts in Atlanta. I always carry business cards for Fantastech Designs in case I meet someone who sounds like they have a job for me.
Quirky Give-Aways: I periodically make a series of vinyl stickers, which I then attach to a business card and a slip introducing the company. Then, I scatter these packets on interactable objects (like benches) in popular areas of Atlanta.
